Links

Below are links to writers, artists, and other creative people that I know and/or love.  You should too.

Valerie Z. Lewis — My late girlfriend, and the most talented writer that I know.  She has just the right balance of wit and depth.  Her short stories are brilliant and her debut novel is hilarious (and available for free download at her site!).  Valerie passed away suddenly on January 24th 2013.

Damnation Books — The publisher of Song of Simon. Specializes in horror and dark fantasy.

Y. Correa — A stellar multi-genre author. She is also one of the founders of All-Authors Magazine and The Review Board. I highly recommend her work.

Kit Frick —  Not only is Kit a fantastic poet, destined to be read in Freshman Comp classes across America, but she has also created a very pleasant and user-friendly website.  I should ask her for help with mine.

Laura Lucas — Another very talented writer.  I’ve known Laura for over 15 years now, and not only is she a great writer, but she is a caring and wonderful human being.  They should give fellowships for that.

John Patrick Bray — An incredible playwright!  Dr. Bray is also a professor at the University of Georgia.  If you get the chance, catch one of his plays, they’re being performed all over.  He also offers free plays on his website.

Dr. Osvaldo Oyola — Osvaldo is one of my oldest and best friends.  I met him as a freshman at SUNY New Paltz, where he instantly took a dislike to me.  In addition to being a fantastic musician, songwriter, essayist, and fictionist, he is also the first person to ever really believe in me as a writer.  He was also the first person that I would bring my writing to.  I think that he ran out of red ink marking up those early stories.  He recently earned his PhD from SUNY Binghamton.

Badass Authors Collective— A facebook group comprised of several up and coming authors, myself included.

Josh Thornbrugh — An excellent writer, and fellow JukePopper (is that a term? It is now).

Grace McDermott — You have GOT to read “Require Cookie.” It’s a fantastic serial, and it’s free!

Veronica Jorden — Another excellent writer. Her website is full of useful resources.

Readfree.ly — An excellent site for authors to promote their books through a newsletter.
