Introduction

I have always been interested in New York history. I was born in Co-op City, in the Bronx, and lived there for most of my childhood. Though I no longer live in the city proper, I’m still entranced with it and its deep and complex history.

For my webserial (and forthcoming novels) The Watchmage of Old New York (FREE at Jukepop Serials), I dove into that history. I scoured books and visited museums, looking for any snippets of lore I could find. Now I want to share that with you.

I’m not a professor of history. I don’t have a PhD or anything like that (My degrees are in Creative Writing and Education). I only have my own research skills and a thirst for knowledge.

I wove much of this information into the Watchmage series. If you’re a lover of history, fantasy, or both, I highly recommend them (really? a writer recommending his books? How bold!).

You can also read my debut novel Song of Simon.  It doesn’t have anything to do with history, but it’s a damn good sword and sorcery novel.
