25,665 cases in New York State. 14,904 in NYC. 671 in Rockland County.

I know that these pages are harder to read that if I typed it. It’s easier for me to journal by hand, and I feel I should share. Document everything.

Here’s yet another fractured fairy tale. I hope to include this one in my Watchmage Chronicles collection, as it’s a variation of an old folk tale of New Amsterdam (the name of New York when it was first colonized by the Dutch).
Note: My Captain Antony Van Corlear is not-so-loosely based off of the real Anthony Van Corlaer…or likely real, anyway.
It’s finally here! Well, the pre-order is…
Cold Iron the sequel to The Watchmage of Old New York and Book 2 of The Watchmage Chronicles, is currently available for preorder for only 99 Cents!!! There’s more of everything that you loved in the original. More Nathaniel! More Jonas! More Hendricks! More painstakingly detailed historical accuracy. More Dwellers! Sadly, less flying dogs…maybe in the next book 😉 Buy Cold Iron here!

To go along with this, The Watchmage of Old New York is also 99 Cents!! That means you can buy two! Count em! Two books for just two bucks!!! It’s the perfect time to jump into The Watchmage Chronicles.
Hopefully next year I’ll have the third out, tentatively titled The Fiddler’s Bow, and then who knows? I have tons of ideas for novels, short stories, even a roleplaying game (Who wouldn’t want to play a Dweller in 19th century New York?). But before all that happens, people need to read the books. If a book drops on a website and nobody is there to read it, does it make a story?
So Read! Share! Gush about the things you love! The things you hate! The lack of Flerriers! Why all the carriage drivers in 19th century New York are as crazy as the ones in 21st century New York (historical note, much of the police activity back then was dealing with cart crashes. Not much has changed).
Anyway, you get the idea. 🙂
I love you all,
Craiggers

I wrote an article on Pinkster in New York, just in time for the Pinkster festivals this weekend. Don’t know what it is? Click the link below.
I noticed that it’s been a very long time since I wrote an article about New York history. I need to rectify that.
I have a few ideas:
The Hamilton-Burr Feud
Washington’s New York Obsession
The Battle of Long Island
Fernando Wood
George Washington Matsell
The Battle of Stony Point
The Capture and Death of John Andre
Anyone have a preference?
People rarely anticipate the consequences of their actions, but they never anticipate the consequences of their inaction.
Rockland County just reelected Ed Day, a man that quoted Josef Goebbels in his commercials. We are 45 minutes from New York City.
On Sunday I went to the Pride parade in NYC, what has become a yearly tradition for me. It runs right down 5th avenue, so you can imagine what it does to traffic. Then again, that’s what parades do.
I went with a bunch of friends, and we always set up in the same spot, right in front of Madison Square Park (no, it’s not by the stadium. Madison Square Garden used to be by the park, but they moved a few times. It’s now above Penn Station). We got there early so that we could be in the front row. As usual, it’s worth it.
Netflix continues to make better shows than anything on the networks or cable. They’re killing it with the Marvel series, the Voltron reboot was excellent, and Stranger Things is just straight up amazing. They continue this winning streak with Baz Lurhmann’s new project, The Get Down.
Hey everyone. I decided to have a sale on The Watchmage of Old New York for this week only. Why? Because I CAN!!!! Also because sales and reviews are falling off.
Sooo, the sale is on Amazon only, and only for the ebook. If you like my blog, you’ll probably like Watchmage. It’s the same writer, you know 😉 You’ll also be helping a neat-o dude like me. I consider every purchase a hug (and each review is a belly rub…I love belly rubs)

Yes, I know it’s shameless pandering…But I gotta eat.
In case you haven’t heard of The Watchmage of Old New York yet, let me hit you with the book blurb:
